Stan: Asking for a second opinion

Stan, 48, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The endocrinologist recommended surgery to remove the thyroid. Stan asked for a second opinion. “Both doctors recommended the surgery...I wanted to be sure that surgery was the right decision.”

“I knew that if my thyroid was removed I’d have to take thyroid medicine the rest of my life. It was pretty easy to get the second opinion and I’m glad I did.”
